What is Amma Therapy?
Amma Therapy is based in the same fundamental principals as Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, focusing on the balance and movement of energy within the body.
What is involved in an Amma Therapy session?
These techniques aim to remove blockages and free the flow of Qi or energy, restoring, promoting and maintaining optimum health. Amma Therapy practitioners rely on the sensitivity and strength of their hands to manipulate the energy, gathering information through observation of signs and symptoms, listening to the client's complaints, scanning the energy field as well as manipulating the body.
The goal is to create a mind/body portrait that includes structural, emotional and energetic imbalances. An Amma Therapy session usually lasts between 60 and 75 minutes. For this full body treatment, clients are treated on a massage table.
What can Amma Therapy help?
An important part of the Amma process is client education. Amma Therapy stresses client responsibility and cooperation in following through with recommendations. Amma Therapy treats a wide range of conditions including: trauma from sprains and fractures, arthritis, hypertension, diabetes, gastrointestinal diseases, circulatory problems, early stage cancers, autoimmune diseases, chronic fatigue syndrome, asthma, and bronchitis.
